A powerful photobook of everyday women motorcyclists, their machines and the ones they love
Do you want the opportunity to be part of a moto photobook with your bike and the ones you love? All whilst raising money for women in need?
What is the Look Twice project?
I am looking for 50 everyday women motorcyclists who ride road bikes and would love to be part of my photobook. Look Twice will be a moto photobook full of women motorcyclists with their bikes and families.
After I have photographed all of the women, I will design a black and white, hard-cover coffee photo book called Look Twice. This will be a powerful and inspirational book full of amazing women who have chosen to ride motorbikes as their hobby. It will invite you to look beyond the bike and the helmet. To Look Twice and see the women who ride and what they mean to the ones who love them.
This project will be an amazing opportunity to be part of history in the making. Celebrating the everyday woman motorcyclists and breaking stereotypes. All whilst raising funds for Endometriosis New Zealand.

About Look Twice…
- When – sessions will take place once a month on a Sunday over an 18 month period.
- Where – Wintec in Hamilton have kindly sponsored us to use their photography studio
- Cost – your session fee is $95 which is due at the time of booking with 100% going to Endometriosis New Zealand
- What’s Not Included – photos taken at the session are not included. But you will have the option to purchase wall art and photo print products during our consultation. Plus you’ll receive an exclusive discount voucher for taking part in the Look Twice project.
What’s Included
- A 40 minute studio session (valued at $195)
- A two page spread in the Look Twice photobook featuring a hero photo and a few smaller ones with a few words about you
- A $200 thank you credit towards wall art and photo prints. You can view the full range here
- 1:1 consultations before and after your shoot
- The option to pre-order your copy of the Look Twice photobook for $99. The book will be designed and published at the conclusion of the sessions towards the end of 2028
The Why
Every year an average of 50 motorcyclists are killed on New Zealand roads. This photo book project will include a series of portraits of 50 everyday women motorcyclists and their families. 50 women to show what those 50 lost lives could look like. It will invite you to look beyond the bike and the helmet. To see the women who ride and what they mean to their families. To highlight that we are more than just motorcyclists. We are mothers, wives, daughters, aunties, nanas and sisters. Would you ‘Look Twice’ for a motorcyclist if it was your mum or sister on the bike?
This book will raise motorcycle awareness from a unique perspective and give people another way to think about how they see motorcyclists on the road. It will also put the focus on women as motorcyclists helping break free from old stereotypes and inspiring young women to follow their own dreams. The book will also be raising funds for Endometriosis NZ with all application fees being donated to the charity.
But this will be more than a motorcycle awareness photo book. This is a celebration of the everyday woman motorcyclists who have chosen riding motorbikes as their passion despite the risks to them and their families and breaking stereotypes as they go.
About Endometriosis New Zealand
Endometriosis is a common inflammatory disease estimated to affect 176 million individuals worldwide in their reproductive years, and 120,000 in New Zealand. This means that roughly 1 in 10 girls, women and those assigned female at birth in New Zealand will have endometriosis. In most cases, there can be symptoms including period pain, pelvic pain and sub-fertility or infertility. In other cases, there may be no obvious symptoms and the diagnosis is made during the course of medical procedures for other reasons.
At least 120,000 people in Aotearoa New Zealand live with endometriosis, yet it can take an average of 10 years to receive a diagnosis. Endometriosis New Zealand’s awareness work aims to change this by helping people recognise the signs and symptoms earlier and know where to seek help. Through national awareness campaigns, community presentations, webinars, social media, educational resources, media engagement, community outreach and our website, we provide trusted, evidence-based information to thousands of people across Aotearoa. Your fundraising support will help us continue this vital work, reaching more people with the information they need to recognise endometriosis, seek support sooner and ultimately reduce the long delays to diagnosis.
